I like it a lot for most purposes. It was a little pricey...but it's a good sized box.

The paper with the red margin is vintage paper Duffy Moon acquired. It isn't my favorite of his writing by any means, but to my mind, it's an interesting insight into how temptation works, and how subtle it can be. I may be along among Lewis fans, but I did not care for Screwtape Letters. I actually have never finished it. That seems to be his most popular (after, of course, Narnia).Duffy Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10105074089216551597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36092055.post-41967756961706413042008-02-15T07:50:00.000-08:002008-02-15T07:50:00.000-08:00Intentional grammar faux paus are OK. ;-) I first...Intentional grammar faux paus are OK. ;-)

I first read C.S. Lewis' space trilogy when I was maybe thirteen, and of course, most of it went over my head. But the descriptions were so vivid and beautiful - at least beautiful in Perelandra and Out of the Silent Planet - and I was completely drawn in. The deeper meanings are something that I'm still trying to completely grasp. Some of his books make me feel like there's something wonderful just beyond reach, and I read them again and again hoping to get there this time around: The Great Divorce and Till We Have Faces, for example.

But I love 'em all.

I can say "'em", can't I?Elizabeth H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09161162407130146871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36092055.post-4981537961414699652008-02-15T06:47:00.000-08:002008-02-15T06:47:00.000-08:00Glad you like the paper!I'm a big fan of C.S. The first time I tried to read "That Hideous Strength" I just couldn't get through it. I gave it a few years, then re-read it. Since then I've re-read it probably ten times. It's a really powerful book, I think, and my favorite in that trilogy.

P.S. I agree on the pica vs elite. My eyes ain't that good anymore.

P.S.S. Does it bother you that I said "ain't"?Duffy Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10105074089216551597noreply@blogger.com
