Sunday morning scribbling

Got up, went to church, had breakfast, now sipping good strong coffee (love my cheapie Melitta cone!) catching up on my journal, and working on a long-abandoned sci-fi story that got just a wee bit tangled up (read: the original plot got up and fled in protest).

Today's workhorses
Pencils. Plus coffee. Life is good.

Should work on the garden later, but waiting for warmth.

How about an excerpt?

If you want warm come to FL where it generally is way too warm.

I vote for an excerpt from your story.

An excerpt? I'll have to think on that. Currently the whole story is like someone dumped two completely unrelated jigsaw puzzles into one box, and I'm just now realizing this and trying to separate them *and* assemble the pieces. Good times. But maybe once I have some coherent chunks put together!

Ditto on the excerpt.

A really pleasant Sunday morning image. My Melitta filter was used to make leban: yogurt thickened by draining the excess liquid. Coffee comes from a french press (single cup) or an ancient percolator. The gardening in Virginia gets done early BEFORE the heat comes on.

Like that selection of properly sharpened pencils.

We've yet to have much in the way of hot weather here--a few days where it's barely poked into the seventies, but not much more. It sure would be nice to have a couple of good, dry days in the 80s.

But it's nice weather for a bit of morning dawdling with hot coffee, pencils, and a notebook, so I can't complain.

I have a little French press and use it some of the time, but the clean up is enough to give me pause. The cone makes really good coffee, and it's so easy, especially coupled with an electric kettle...it's my primary coffee brewer of choice these days!
