Total fiction this time around, and right at the edge of what I'm comfortable with writing.
I may expand this into a short story some day. I'd like to know who these people are, and...maybe not so much redeem them as set them off on the road toward redemption.

You know, this is enough out of my norm that all day today, I was thinking of yanking it down when I got home from work. Then I got home from work, and since it's the first nice day we've had in forever, I mowed the lawn. And in the process, I somehow whacked my right thumb but good--bent the nail way back so it hurts like a son-of-a-gun. And then I went to take the trash out to the curb and mashed my left big toe. So...now this kind of fits my mood, and I guess I'll leave it. It is what it is and I am what I am, and sometimes these are the sorts of scenes that run through my head...
I enjoyed the realistic conflict. And conflict is what keeps a reader reading, so good job!
Thanks!
